The HQ360-AG 3.6m Ground-Hog Aerator is the heaviest duty machine in the Groundhog lineup. A very popular aerator for heavy pasture and cropping. All Ground-Hog aerators have 4 tines per row resulting in 25% more aeration than other brands. The tine shaft is able to be adjusted from 0 to 10 degrees in 2½ degree increments to enable use for aeration and/or cultivation.
With a 3.6m working width, this machine can cover more ground faster. Its heavy duty design allows it to be used for either aeration or low-till cultivation.
Ideal for larger scale dairy farmers and livestock farmers looking for a highly versatile and heavy duty aerator, this machine has the capability to both aerate on its low-disturbance settings, or cultivate on the high-disturbance settings. The low-till cultivation result is not dissimilar to cultivating with discs, and is ideal for primary cultivation, min-till or pre-direct drilling.
Combine the Ground-Hog with the Lehner SuperVario spreader to create the ultimate one-pass machine!
At 0-5 degrees adjustment on the shaft, you can aerate in a range of soil moisture conditions - the larger the shaft angle the more aggressive the aeration. The lean and twist combines with the shaft angle to increase the disturbance to the soil.
At 7.5 or 10 degrees the soil disturbance is very high. As the machine has high tine density of 4 tines per hub, the result created is similar to a set of discs, with the lean and twist on the tines assisting to break up and penetrate the ground. On this setting the machine is commonly used to rip up existing sprayed out pasture, or post-break-feeding ground prior to further cultivation.
Compared to a subsoiler, on 0 degrees the Ground Hog aerator leaves very minimal surface disturbance - you can put your stock in the same paddock soon after aeration. The rolling action and high tine density of 4 tines per row means there is no ridging or disturbance created by the Ground-hog.
The rolling tine action of the Groundhog requires a lot less pulling than a subsoiler or leg aerator, reducing horsepower consumption and increasing speed. Since you can get the job done faster, the aerator can get used more often, improving the overall performance of your farm!
